PARTHOS collection honored with the iF Design Award 2025!

We are excited to announce that the PARTHOS collection, created by NARBUTAS, has received the prestigious iF Design Award 2025. The collection of tables and acoustic columns was recognized in the Office Furniture category – “Excellent Product Design – Office Furniture”.

Organized in Germany since 1954, the iF Design Awards are internationally acknowledged and considered a symbol of exceptional design and its quality. According to Bernd Seuss, NARBUTAS Country Manager for the German market, such awards enhance the brand’s recognition and prestige: “Due to the growing number of design awards won by NARBUTAS in recent years, our products are attracting increased interest from dealers, architects, and designers, and are being featured more often in both local and international projects. I believe that major recognitions like the iF Design Award confirm that we are creating sophisticated, contemporary furniture, while also motivating us to stay on course – emphasizing not just functionality, but also design and aesthetics.”

Did you know?

  • The iF Design Awards evaluate design achievements across various fields: product, packaging, communication and services, architecture, interior, and others.
  • This year, the competition received 11,000 entries from 66 countries.
  • Products were evaluated by an international jury of 131 independent design experts.

Inspired by classical architecture

The entire PARTHOS collection, which includes acoustic columns, meeting and conference tables, high tables, and occasional tables, was awarded under the “Excellent Product Design” category. According to NARBUTAS product designer Rytė Milišiūnaitė, a unique unifying design element brings all these pieces together.
“The PARTHOS collection of tables and acoustic products is unified by a sculptural column inspired by elements of classical architecture. The column is wrapped in PET felt, and the vertical line ornament adds a sense of elegance and lightness to the form, highlighting the distinctive character of the furniture,” said R. Milišiūnaitė about the collection.

The collection’s concept and differentiation recognized

When evaluating the submitted products, the iF Design Award jury used five criteria: form, function, sustainability, differentiation, and idea. The PARTHOS collection scored highest in the categories of idea and differentiation.
PARTHOS acoustic columns are filled with upholstery offcuts left over from the production process. This approach not only enhances the furniture’s functional properties—such as sound absorption and stability—but also reflects the company’s strong commitment to sustainability. By using materials more efficiently and reducing waste, the production process becomes significantly more environmentally responsible. In fact, over the past 1.5 years, more than 15 tons of textile offcuts have been repurposed for these acoustic columns!
A more sustainable approach to production is also emphasized through the choice of one of the key materials – PET felt. PARTHOS acoustic columns and table legs are externally upholstered with PET felt, which contains over 60% recycled content.
The PARTHOS collection reflects modern office trends – meeting the growing demand for meeting furniture and acoustic products, while promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.

PARTHOS was already winning before

The iF Design Award 2025 is not the first recognition for the PARTHOS collection. This year, it also received the Winner title at the German Design Award 2025. In 2023, PARTHOS tables won the Archello Award on the design platform Archello—an award where winners are selected by readers.
NARBUTAS has participated in the iF Design Award multiple times. In 2023, the NOVA Wood Multipurpose desking system received the award, and in 2024, it was awarded to the D-CHAIR chair collection.
NARBUTAS has been participating in international design competitions since 2019, with the iF Design Award standing alongside other accolades such as the Red Dot, German Design Awards, and more.
